The Alpha Fetal Protein test came back negative, so no spina bifida or any of the other birth defects that they screen for.
The only worry we have now, is that I have developed gestational diabetes. We screened early for it due to a family history of diabetes, and because I tend to be sugar intolerant. My sugar was high enough that I will be on insulin injections as well as a restricted diet. I will see the dietitian this week, and follow up with my Dr next week. My Dr is confident that since we caught this early we can control the diabetes with Insulin and Diet and diminish the risks to Morgan.
