2007 was an eventful year for the Haas household. Our dream of becoming parents was finally realized, although a little earlier than expected.

Morgan is now 8 months old and I still pinch myself everyday because I can’t believe he’s really mine. Thankfully he is healthy and happy despite his early arrival. Developmentally he is acting more like a 5 month old than an 8 month old, but that’s to be expected. We are having lots of fun making him smile and laugh. And we are very lucky that he has an easy going and mellow personality. He definitely gets that from his dad.

Don is doing well in his job. He is continuing to grow his Ward Davis IT business. Right now he is taking on new clients strictly by referral from others, but I have a plan for 2008. I need to put it on paper, but the goal is to have him take on an apprentice, someone who is capable, but not ready to be out on his own, someone he can train and take a portion of his billings. So stay tuned for those developments. Also, if you know anyone who fits the bill have them call us.

I was off work for quite some time this year with Morgan’s early arrival. My employer was very understanding and supportive and it made me all the more grateful to be working there. Coming back full time was hard at first, but also a blessing. A blessing because I was working part time from home after Morgan came home and by the time I came back he was really needing more interaction than I could easily give him while trying to get work done. I don’t know how mom’s can work from home, for me I was always torn between wanting to give him 100% of my attention and the demands of work. Daycare has been really great for him. He likes being around the other kids, he loves to ‘œpeople watch’ and he has plenty of opportunity to do that at daycare. Plus they are so experienced with children that they are really helping his development, I can see how their time with him is helping him to start trying to sit up on his own, and how much easier it is to spoon feed him than when we started. We have been blessed to find a wonderful daycare that is very loving and also very affordable. Morgan is very happy there.

We truly have a lot to be thankful for this year, and are so very blessed. This year was not without challenges, but we managed to make it through and will continue to persevere in 2008.

We hope that 2007 was as wonderful for your family as it was for ours. And we wish you health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year.

We are especially grateful and humbled by all of your love and prayers for Morgan, and we ask that you now direct those prayers to Sandra as she is facing some health challenges. But as all of you know, Sandra is very tough, and we have no doubt that she will be with us for many more years to come!

All the best to you and yours!

Deborah, Don and Morgan
