Parker Kane (1990)
This was Joel Silver’s (Matrix/Lethal Weapon/Die Hard) attempt at a TV series. I remember watching the show fascinated by the camerawork and slo-motion used for the action sequences. The film stars Jeff Fahey (Body Parts / Silverado) as an ex-cop-now-detective for hire who starts to research the death of a buddy (David Caruso). Parker then stumbles upon a toxic waste coverup. Pretty simple’¦but the up and coming actors involved: Marisa Tomei, Gail O’Grady, Patti LaBelle, Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd, Amanda Pays, Billy Wirth make it very fun to watch. Written by Peter Lenkov who went on to do Demolition man (still a guilty pleasure) and 24 (‘˜THE’™ show to watch for the last three years) Directed by Steve Perry (he was Second unit on Lethal weapon 2,3,4 and 1941) Shot (by the great Jan De Bont) on location in Long Beach and even used the newly built Spruce Goose Dome for the shoot out finale.
